The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black Review (4.5/5 Stars)

Finally finished up The Folk of the Air series! The Queen of Nothing is the final installment in this enchanting faerie series and it left me guessing at various points. There was multiple plot twists that left me saying "what????" while trying to figure out how they will be resolved.
Cardan is still the insufferable yet charming High King of Elfhame while Jude is the multi-dimensional female main character (FMC) that appeals to the different aspects of good and evil in all of us. From start to finish, this power couple (even if they don't know that's what they are) lead the people of Elfhame through rough times and manage to see things resolved.
The two small reasons that this book is getting 4.5 stars instead of 5 are these:
- Some of the words used in this book felt out of place. They were very complex words that are not found in your average person's vocabulary that had to be looked up to find a definition. Yet this book is geared towards young adults and it would be shocking to find an "average" person of any age who knows these words off first glance.
- The plot twist involved Taryn went...nowhere? Don't want to spoil it for anyone but what impact does it have on the universe later? What happens to her? Maybe it goes nowhere but a small future mention would be nice in order to tidy things up.
Otherwise, this book is a great ending to The Folk of the Air series!
