Currently Reading: The Handmaid's Tale

Lately, I've been trying to slow things down a little - more quiet mornings, more time offline, and reading everyday.
This week, I'm starting The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.
The Contents
One of the things that made me pick up this book is the fact that it's been challenged and banned in a number of places and is now featured on the "Banned Books" table at the bookstore.
Books are often challenged because they make people uncomfortable, question things, or see the world a little differently - although I think there's something powerful in that.
There's a reminder in choosing a "banned" book: knowledge matters. Perspective matters.
The Vibe
This feels like:
- quite
- intense
- thought-provoking
Something you don't rush through but really sit and think about.
Reading Ritual
My ideal reading setup looks like: an iced latte, a cozy sweatshirt, and telling myself "just one more chapter" even when I know I should have been asleep an hour ago.
